Shari Dunn

As the senior director of executive communications, Shari Dunn is responsible for crafting major speeches, presentations and announcements, managing social media strategies and content for Chancellor Sharon Gaber, and supporting key initiatives such as the chancellor’s annual report and high-profile engagements. She also serves as a key liaison between University Communications and the Chancellor’s Office, ensuring consistency and alignment across platforms and initiatives.

Prior to assuming this role, she served as the senior executive assistant to the chancellor for 13 years. She held a similar role at Pfeiffer University for 12 years before coming to UNC Charlotte. She also has administrative experience in the banking and nonprofit sectors.
Dunn graduated from Wingate College with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and minors in accounting and English. She earned a Master of Business Administration with a human resources concentration from Pfeiffer University.
