Lynn Roberson joined the Belk College of Business as communications director in May 2023 after 11 years as communications director for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and two years as communications director for the UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Office. Previously, she directed external relations and public policy research for BellSouth and AT&T in North Carolina, led marketing for a Charlotte information technology company and served as executive director for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Partnerships Office and its Public Schools Foundation. She has served on boards including Communities in Schools of North Carolina, the Public School Forum of North Carolina, the North Carolina Business Committee for Education, the Winston-Salem State University Foundation, and several chambers of commerce. Earlier, she was an award-winning reporter for newspapers in the Carolinas. She earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science from UNC-Chapel Hill and has completed graduate courses at UNC Charlotte and leadership courses including Leadership North Carolina, Southern Leaders of the 21st Century and Southern Women in Public Service. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and its Charlotte chapter and a member of the National Association of Science Writers.
