John Tobias

John Tobias has ten-plus years of experience in sports statistics and analytics. He has been with ESPN since 2013 and was one of the first statisticians in the country to implement analytics in the sports television industry, also known as advanced statistics. He has worked the last three Summer Olympics, including the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Wlodek W. Zadrozny

Professor

Wlodek Zadrozny joined the faculty of UNC Charlotte in 2013, after a 27-year career at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. Dr. Zadrozny’s research focuses on natural language understanding and its applications. From 2008 to 2013, he was part of the IBM Watson project, the Jeopardy! playing machine. As a scientist at IBM Research, he led and contributed to a wide range of projects.
