Shannon Sullivan

Shannon Sullivan is a professor of Philosophy and Health Psychology and chair of the Philosophy Department at UNC Charlotte. She is author or editor of eight books, including most recently "Good White People: The Problem with Middle-Class White Anti-Racism" (2014), "The Physiology of Sexist and Racist Oppression" (2015), and "Feminist Interpretations of William James" (2015).

Vaughn Schmutz

Vaughn Schmutz is an associate professor of sociology at UNC Charlotte. Among other things, he studies processes of classification, evaluation, and consecration, most often in the fields of music and world heritage. He is currently a co-editor-in-chief of Poetics: Journal of Empirical Research on Culture, Media, and the Arts.

Victoria E. Rankin, Ph.D., is a sociology lecturer at UNC Charlotte. Dr. Rankin earned her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Virginia and specializes in equity in education, social inequality, parent engagement, and the sociology of education. Prior to joining UNC Charlotte in 2017, Dr.

William E. B. Sherman

William E. B. Sherman (B.A., Stanford University; M.A., University of California, Los Angeles; Ph.D., Stanford University) is an assistant professor in the Department of Religious Studies. He joined the UNC Charlotte faculty in fall of 2017. His research approaches the history and literature of Muslim societies, with a particular focus on premodern South and Central Asia.
