Carol L. Higham, Ph.D., is a lecturer in the History Department, where she teaches Native American and American history. She co-authored "Conquests and Consequences: The West from Frontier to Region" (Harlan Davidson Inc., 2009) and co-edited "One West, Two Myths, Vol. 1 and 2," (University of Calgary Press, 2001, 2004) and a series of books on the American frontier for Wiley.

Drew Polly is a professor in the Elementary Education program at UNC Charlotte. He teaches courses and conducts research on teaching, assessment, and differentiated instruction. Polly serves and supports elementary mathematics instruction across the state through standards revision, professional development, and creating instructional resources.
Erik Jon Byker is an associate professor in the Cato College of Education's Department of Reading and Elementary Education. He completed a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching and Educational Policy from Michigan State University and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia.
Florence Martin is a Professor in Instructional Systems Technology and Program Director of the Post-Master’s Certificate of University and College Teaching at University of North Carolina Charlotte. Martin engages in research focusing on the effective design of instruction and integration of digital technology to improve learning and performance.
Garvey Pyke, Ph.D., has been the director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at UNC Charlotte since 2013. Garvey leads the center in providing and supporting the enterprise level academic technologies and faculty professional development programs regarding high quality instruction, scholarly teaching, and distance learning.
Jeffrey Barto has been teaching at the university level since 1986 and at UNC Charlotte since 1992. He taught integrating movement into elementary school curriculums for 25 years. Since 2005, he has created and taught two different courses on Baseball History and Critically Thinking through Baseball as a medium.
Lori Van Wallendael is an associate professor of Psychology at UNC Charlotte. She has expertise in eyewitness identification and has consulted with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department regarding identification procedures.
Marek Ranis (PL/USA) is an associate professor of Art in the College of Art + Architecture at UNC Charlotte. He is a multi-media environmental artist. Through sculpture, installation, painting, photography and video, Ranis is exploring social, political and anthropological aspects of phenomena such as the climate change.
