(BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and both master's and doctoral degrees in Computer Science from the University of Houston.

Maciej A. Noras received a master's degree in 1994 from Wroclaw University of Technology in Wroclaw, Poland and a Ph.D. in 2000 from Southern Illinois University. He then joined Trek, Inc. as an R&D engineer to work on high voltage power electronics, including drivers for piezoelectric actuators, and precision measurement applications.

He researches on software engineering issues including integrating trust in design and development of user-centric and context-aware complex systems, which are adaptable, interoperable, mobile, secure and portable across different platforms.

He is an internationally regarded expert in the application of micro/nanotechnologies to the biomedical field and considered a leading authority in the fabrication and characterization of biopolymer fibers for 3D oriented microvascular structures.

He is a freshman academic advisor and lecturer for Introduction to Engineering Technology (ETGR 1201) and Introduction to Engineering Practices and Principles I (ENGR 1201).
