Aaron A. Toscano is an associate professor of English, specializing in technical writing, rhetoric/composition, science fiction, and cultural studies. Alan Rauch is a professor of English. He was born in Montréal, Québec and received his bachelor's degree in biology from McGill University. After completing his master's in zoology, he obtained a master's degree and Ph.D. in literature at Rutgers University.

Malin Pereira

Professor of English and Executive Director, Honors College

Malin Pereira became executive director of the Honors College in August 2012. Dr. Pereira earned her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her undergraduate majors were in English and Psychology; master’s and doctorate were in English, with a minor in Afro-American Studies.

Ralf Thiede

Professor of Linguistics

Ralf Thiede is a professor of Linguistics at UNC Charlotte. He joined UNC Charlotte in 1990, with intermittent brief teaching appointments in Taiwan and Germany. His areas of interest are syntax, history, cognition and linguistics, language acquisition and learning, evolution of language, and English grammar; the language of children's literature; Medieval literature.
