Biography:
James D. Oliver is a Bonnie E. Cone Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences at UNC Charlotte. He has published over 200 papers, primarily on Vibrio vulnificus, cause of the most deadly food-borne disease, and on bacterial dormancy, wherein standard bacteriological studies are unable to detect the bacteria.
