Biography:

Jason Windett is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. He is also the associate director of the Public Policy Ph.D. program, and a core faculty member in Public Policy. His research agenda focuses broadly on the area of representation in American politics, with a focus on state politics, state courts, and gender and politics. His research has appeared or is forthcoming in the American Journal of Political Science, Political Analysis, Political Behavior, Public Opinion Quarterly, American Politics Research, State Politics and Policy Quarterly, the Journal of Women, Politics, and Policy and others. Windett’s current research on state courts of last resort and policy diffusion has been supported by multiple grants from the National Science Foundation. He received his Ph.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill, master’s from Appalachian State University, and bachelor’s degree from Catawba College.
