Mark Sanders

Biography:

Mark Sanders is a senior lecturer of philosophy. He has been at UNC Charlotte since 2006 and has taught many classes during that time. Most recently, he has been focusing on philosophically informed civic engagement. This has manifested itself in the courses he teaches and the service and research he conducts. Courses such as Deliberative Democracy, Citizenship, and Philosophy of Education all require students to work on a project that combine theory and practice (and have each inform the other). He has reported on these classes at various conferences, and he is also very involved with community engagement through Campus Compact and the 49er Democracy Experience.
