Andrew James

Andrew James joined the University Communications team in March 2025 as a Media Relations Specialist.  A lifelong 49er, Andrew has been connected to UNC Charlotte since childhood.  He grew up attending 49er basketball and baseball games with his dad, and his first job was as a Camps on Campus Counselor in high school.  

Andrew’s mother is an alumna, he met his wife, Logan, during his undergraduate career at Charlotte, and his mother-in-law is a professor in the School of Nursing.  Before returning to campus, Andrew worked as a television news anchor and reporter in Montgomery, Alabama and Asheville, North Carolina.

Andrew is a member of the Media Relations team and is a University contact for media inquiries.
