Biography:

Bjarne Berg, Ph.D. is a clinical assistant professor in the Business Information Systems and Operations Management (BISOM) department. Previously, Dr. Berg was a professor and program coordinator for the CS and IT programs at Lenoir Rhyne University, where he taught AI, ML, statistics, business analytics, and computer science classes for 22 years.

Berg was also a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he led the national Advanced Tax Analytics and Innovation practice for US and Mexico, and as a senior manager in the global group, for 9 years. Earlier, he was the CIO, partner, and practice leader in Analytics, at Comerit Inc, a director at VIP consulting for a combined 12 years.

He has held IT leadership roles at Bank of Hawaii and worked at Moodys and Bank of America. He is a Harvard graduate of the Business Analytics Program (HBAP), has a Ph.D. in IT from UNC Charlotte and a second doctorate (DBA) is from the University of Sarasota. He has also an MBA from East Carolina University, and a B.S. degree from Appalachian State University.

He attended the first level of the Norwegian Military Academy and served as an officer. He has authored, and co-authored, seven books on SAP Business Intelligence and published academic research articles in Journals such as the European Journal of Information Systems, ISM, Information Management and others.
