Biography:

Srinivas Akella, Ph.D. is a professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He received his Ph.D. in Robotics from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, and his B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Akella has expertise in robot motion and manipulation planning, multi-robot coordination, and coverage planning. His research interests are in developing geometric, optimization, and machine learning algorithms for robotics and automation. In addition to papers in leading international journals and conferences, he has six patents. He has received the NSF CAREER award, and the CCI Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award. His research has been supported by NSF, DOD, DARPA, NCDOT, and industry.
