VISUAL UPDATES TO WORDPRESS SITES DURING REDESIGN LAUNCH: WHAT TO EXPECT
All sites in the Central WordPress Service will receive a slight visual update on June 1. A more complete version of this theme will be available as part of the phased web redesign rollout. More on specifics related to this change below.
The primary changes to the existing Central Web Service theme are to the Header and Footer. They are being updated to match the new WordPress theme:

Some specific changes and examples:
1) The Gateway Links section does not exist as an editable menu on the new theme. It will be removed from all sites, and the menu itself will be removed from the Admin section.

2) “Campus Resources” has been changed to the new “Explore” menu.

3) Sub-org specific social media links no longer exist in the header and will be removed from the Admin section. A social icons block exists in the Central Web Service and can be used to add a social icons block to one of the theme’s Widget Areas.

4) Fonts will be updated to the new font set used in the Web Redesign project.Fonts are still being updated. But all pages will use the new font set from the new theme when ready.
If your site contains custom css, there may be some collisions after the new theme is applied. Please reach out to WebServices-group@charlotte.edu if you notice something that doesn’t look right.
